Each year we have eight studentships available for our 3.5 year PhD programme commencing each October. These studentships provide a generous stipend, tuition fees and bench fees for 3.5 years. This programme is designed for students who have a clear idea of the field in which they wish to work and who have solid laboratory or research experience. It provides the opportunity to undertake a PhD project that will make a novel contribution to scientific knowledge and understanding.

We currently have three 3.5 year fully funded PhD Studentships available.

1: “Investigating key mechanisms in DNA replication and cancer”

This studentship is under the joint supervision of Dr Christian Speck & Dr Jesus Gil and is to commence this academic year with a flexible start date between June-September 2017.

The studentship includes a generous tax-free stipend payment, paid directly to the student monthly, amounting to £18,000 each year.

Applicants should have;

  • Settled status in the UK, meaning they have no restrictions on how long they can stay
    and
  • Been ‘ordinarily resident’ in the UK for three years prior to the start of the studentship. This means they must have been normally residing in the UK (apart from temporary or occasional absences)
    and
  • Not been residing in the UK wholly or mainly for the purpose of full-time education. (This does not apply to UK or EU nationals).

2: “The neurobiology of obesity”

This studentship is under the  supervision of Professor Dominic Withers and is to commence next academic year with a start date of 02 October 2017.

The studentship includes a generous tax-free stipend payment, paid directly to the student monthly, amounting to £19,000 each year.

This Cross-Campus ICCS Studentship is under the joint supervision of Dr Luis Aragon, Cell Cycle Group, MRC London Institute of Clinical Sciences and Dr Matthew Fuchter, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Imperial College London.The studentship is to commence next academic year with a start date of 02 October 2017.

The studentship includes a generous tax-free stipend payment, paid directly to the student monthly, amounting to £19,000 each year.
